I am now reaching a milestone of a 14-year association with the Excel Shipping Group after having a three-year sabbatical in 1999. It all started when Richard Timms asked if I wanted to start ‘my own company’ after a shipping function one December in 2002. It took me a minute to say yes and now I am pleased to say that I do not regret the decision one bit.

I am now responsible for sales and overall running of Excel Ocean and just in the last few months, Excel Shipping Group in a sales capacity and report to the Board of Excel Shipping. I enjoy or should I say endure torture of following the fortunes Everton Football Club and spend any spare time with my wife Amanda and two daughters Charlotte and Jessica who are very dear to me. Without them, I would be nothing!
